Is there something wrong? please help/reassure me!!!

My first bunch were supposed to hatch Easter, nothing.
Second bunch were put in a day later, nothing.
Third bunch were put in 3 days later.....finally one hatched yesterday. And the one I had the least amount of hope for....the one that was dented a week ago, he's almost all the way out. And one more is pipping. The first one out has rolled everyone's eggs around, so I can't see who is who. The dented one was in the last group to go in.
Now how in the world am I supposed to go to work? and take my son to school?
Hang in there! I was ready to give up!

Can you see if it's breathing?

it is, very heavily and is lying on its back and seems as though it is trying to walk, its leg on top in moving in that way.

Congrats. I'm in the same situation right now. This is day 21 and I have candled some and picked 3 that I determined would not hatch. 2 that I cracked open where infertile the other had a chick the size of a marble and was dead. This is SO frustrating. I have monitored everything religiously. <sigh> All I can do now is wait a few more days and see. <cry>

Mine were due Tuesday- didn't start pipping til Thursday and Friday. I thought my temps ran on the high side the whole time, but maybe not. It took a day to get up to the right temp when I set the eggs..maybe that had something to do with the late hatch.

Don't give up and good luck!

If the baby is lying on its back, that is not good because of how the chicken's lungs are situated. In your situation, it might be worth it to reach in VERY quickly and turn the baby over onto its belly, then quick spritz in a bit of water from a sprayer. Lockdown is important, keeping humidity up is important, but leaving a backstranded baby to die....I think I'd do the quick turn-over, myself, and up the humidity in the next second with a spritzer.

I had 20 eggs hatch, starting 2 weeks ago. They hatched starting on day 17!! and all of them were out by day 20. Clearly, my temps were too high, but all the chicks seemed to be healthy. The difference between the eggs nearer the light bulb, and the ones further away, was no more than 5" and yet the nearer ones hatched up to 4 days earlier than the furthest ones.
