No Chickens and Quail can not breed together. Chickens and Quail should not be kept together because chickens can carry diseases that can kill quail even if the chickens show no symptoms. The two species have different housing and feed requirements, chickens are much larger and can injure quail.

Thanks Amer! Yes, you can "breed" a quicken (quail / chicken hybrid). However, this is not a natural occurrence. You need to artificially inseminate the chicken or gene splice it. The gene splicing is more common and successful. It's pretty hard to do just AI'ing the chicken, and the success rate is near zero from what I've heard (but not actually zero, it is possible).
