Is this a bad idea?

I'm getting ready to put my coop and run together. I've moved from wanting a large tractor design to wanting a permanent pen, simply because the tractor idea was getting too darn big and heavy in my mind.

So now I'm on a 16 by 16 run with a 4 by 8 coop, either attached or possibly just sitting inside the run. For the run, I bought some 2 inch by 4 inch welded wire fence, 4 feet high. Above that and over the top of the run I was going to use chicken wire. My main defense against neighborhood predators is going to be my dogs, the welded wire fence is largely to keep them out of the run. I'm not sure if they will try to get in past that, if they do I'll wire up some electric fence around that, the dogs have a healthy respect for electric fence. (As in, they used to dig out of my yard on a regular basis, after a brief experience with the electric wire, they no loner dig out. The fence has been off for years now, and they still stay away from it.)

Is this a bad idea? I don't see how it should be a problem, anything small enough to fit between the fencing should be kept at bay by my dogs, and my dogs should be kept at bay by the fence/electric fence.
