Is this a Black Copper Maran?

I have another thought on this. You look at people. Say ... you take 50 or 100 people that are all, say ... Mexican, or Russian or German or Japanese. Are they all identical? Do they all look like cookie-cutter versions of each other? Of course not. So, IMO, I don't think we can expect chickens of a particular breed to all look identical either. They resemble each other of course. But there are variations. 🤷🏽‍♀️
100 percent! The only reason I am questioning her is because I have not gotten the "correct" egg color for a Black Copper Maran.

Oh, I didn't see that! What color is she laying? Got a pic of one of her eggs?
I do not know. I have never seen her in a nesting box! But she is 35 weeks old and looks like she should be laying. So she could be sneaking it in before I get outside in the AM. I just ordered a camera so I can see who is laying.

Is this a Black Copper Maran? I have never owned the breed. I got this gal from a friend. I thought she told me she was a BCM as a chick, but now I am unsure. She also cannot remember whether this is a BCM or a mix (she owns and sells a lot of chickens, so I understand the forgetfulness). She is 35 weeks old, her comb and wattles are very big and red. She looks like a layer. However, I have never seen her in a nest box, so I cannot figure out if she is laying. I go outside everyday around the time most of the gals lay, and she is never in there. I get mostly light light brown eggs and about 3 olive eggs. Is she an olive egger? Is she a mix of something else and lays light brown eggs? I do not know what BCM chickens are "supposed" to look like other than they are black with copper and have feathered feet. I don't know what kind of comb they are supposed to have. She doesn't look like a lot of BCM's I see online. They are more muted in colors and not as "bulky" as this gal here. Just confused and stumped. Please help.
She could be a BCM and thats what i would favor her to be. Her hackles are very light (straw colored), straight comb, slate legs and leg feathering although heavy points to Marans or Marans mix. Check her feet, they should be pinkish white.
Other guesses are Olive Egger or Marans hybrid that some hatcheries call a Midnight Majesty Marans.

Do you think she is possibly just not laying yet? Thank you for the response!

She looks like she's close or should be laying. Where are you located?

Some pullets who could get close to POL (point of lay) will lay before the Soltice change when daylight hours decrease generally below 14 hours triggering them to take their break and will lay thru winter where others will wait until the daylight hours start increasing in the Spring.
I had my very first Black Silver Marans pullet I was anxiously waiting on her first egg in late 2024 and she made me wait until February 2025 after I had turned lights on to lay her first egg at IIRC around 32 weeks. So it's not unheard of in my experience.
