Is this a blood ring? AHH A BACTERIAL RING?

Yeah--I wouldnt say blood ring. I would toss it though if you dont see veins in a few more days.

Good Luck!

I think it's maybe a bit too early.... doesn't appear to have that "bloody" look that the bacterial one had. I think it's just a yolk. But, it is hard to tell by one photo alone. It's possible that with a brighter light and darker room you will be more likely to see the veins that are forming. I wouldn't throw any out yet. At least wait until day 7. A lot grows between now and then!

Darker room I can't get until tonight. But brighter light? No thankyou! That one is extremely bright and leaves you blinded if you look at it. Any brighter would probably be to hot for the eggs too!

I looked at that site. My eggs resemble the 5th egg pictured, minus the blood spot. So they're just yolks right? I thought someone just said only yolks would be clear. LOL I'm so confused now. I labeled mine clear and left them in the bator.

No, not a blood ring. A blood ring circles the entire egg. It may not be a fertile egg at all, but it's not a blood ring. Wait and see for a while.

Could it be a bacterial ring?

I have many like this. I'll leave them in and recandle at day 7 or so unless, someone says not to because they can say it is most diffently a bacterial ring-don't want to mess with those!

Only way to tell is to leave them in til day 7 and candle..I never candle eggs til day 7...then if I see something I'm not sure of I put a ? mark on it and leave til day 12 or 14 and candle again, (if its not seeping or has a funky smell)... then you will know for sure...

I candle mine at day 10 . I did a candling on my last hatch at day 7 and I had an egg that looked like that but I left it in the bator and waited till day 14 and candled again and sure enough there was a chick in it and we hatched out the prettiest little white rock. they are now a week old. if I can't see veins then I wait til at least day 10 and sometimes day 14, Right now I have 25 ameraucana eggs set that are due to hatch next wednesday on the 22. so far all have veins and growing like weeds in them.
