I had 25 BLRW chicks from the Foley's. A few looked very similiar to that, but I'm not certain. If it is a BLRW, it will be of the black variety(as PeakyBeaky said).
Thank you Sunwren. And Thank you - LOVEMYBLUELACEDRED - for that picture showing so many different looks in one breed of chicken...not to mention how much they CHANGE as they grow. Well, since we've gone this far, I will update with another photo in about a week. You know, I wish now we hadn't ordered our chicks at the local feed store. I mean, they open the book and let you "special order" one at a time of different breeds, and I thought they would be sending at least the CORRECT breed of a chick, even if it wasn't going to be show quality. But these folks have consistently let us down, and this chick does indeed look pretty cross-bred. I don't think wyandotte legs are that color. But she's pretty and sweet, so she stays.
Yeah, well, I think it's pretty obvious by now that she wanted to be a gold-lace but is a mix-breed or not well marked one. No worries, we love her just the same...
It's entirely possible that she's a Buff Columbian Wyandotte. That's pretty rare though, it'd be a one in a million chance to get one out of a mixed bin!
