any idea how I can attach a photo. it says that I do not have permission. The one I copied and pasted did not show....

Post it in your avatar file on here, or make two extra posts. I think you need at least 10 before posting a photo.

Many chickens have feathered legs.

Silkies, D'Uccles, Cochins, Brahmas, Sultans, Langshans, Faverolles, etc.

But the most popular feather legged breed out of all of those (except the silkie - it would be obvious if you had a silkie) are the Brahmas and Cochins.

Brahmas have pea combs (very small, 3 rows that look like peas). They also tend to be taller and more lanky in appearance.

Brahma

Cochin

Cochins have a more robust appearance. Baby got back... ;) They also have a single comb that sticks up straight.

NOTE: Not all cochins are that colour, and not all brahmas are that colour either.

It is possible you have a mix as well. The feathered leg gene expresses if only one parent has feathered legs.

OK. I changed my profile pic to her photo. Do you know if she is a Cochin from that photo?

What is a hatchery type cochin and why is it a HE? lolol
It is very quiet and sweet. Looks like the pics of a cochin hen. the males are much bigger and there neck feathers are long... from what I gather

The one behind him (we just found out today) is a Polish rooster. When we got them in April, we thought they were both hens. lol joke is on us:)
They have lived together since a few days of age. They cuddle and get very upset when separated. Even search for each other. The cochin doesn't make a peep. If is it a boy, do we have to separate them? Will they harm each other?

Thank you for all your help btw, I have been at this all day!!

They won't harm each other at all if there are no girls to fight over, and even still - they should get along no problem. Maybe a few squabbles to figure out who is head rooster.

Cochin boys are gentle giants for the most part. I haven't had any crow before 20 weeks old.

Here is one of my previous boys at the same age as your rooster.
