Is this a cockerel or a nice fat hen?

I have several 16 week old chicks. This barred rock has a brighter comb and wattle than her sister. Could she really be a he? No crowing yet. Thanks in advance for any help!

Your barred rock is 100% hen

Barred rock roosters are big ..Like 23" tall at comb to foot and have a much larger single comb. Also no lovely rooster tail feathers. They are a great breed to have. Mine lays an egg daily.
Hens too get a brighter comb and wattle it just means they are sexually maturing and will lay eggs soon.

Interested to see what experienced folks post. It sure looks female to me, but my chicken experience consists of 4 week old chicks and hundreds of hours cruising BYC.com. It’s dark and all feathers are rounded. Did the comb just redden recently? Could be ready to start laying!

Yes, she just recently pinked up! I was hoping it was just in preparation for laying. Yes, feathers are rounded. I think I was just getting paranoid, I don't want roosters at this time. Thanks!
