So my daughter works for TSC. She found this baby chick in a shipment. She has searched for any signs she has eyes and can't find any. Is this a common condition for chicks to be born with no eyes and what's her chance at a life with a flock?

Ok. She is over run with chickens, juveniles, babies I told her to give her to me. I will raise her in the house. If she makes it through the night I have to get her tomorrow. Not a common condition, but it happens. Such a bird in a flock will be picked on mercilessly. By itself in a 'constant' environment where food and water is kept in the same place all of the time it could survive.

Oh she also has that beak deformation. Not a common condition, but it happens. Such a bird in a flock will be picked on mercilessly. By itself in a 'constant' environment where food and water is kept in the same place all of the time it could survive.
I will ask my daughter but she said they eye lids are like feathered over. I will text her now she is still at work with it. It also has the beak defect.Reminds me of new born kittens who often start out life with conjuctivitis. Have you tried to wet a finger and gently soften up the eye area? Perhaps she just has difficulty opening her eyes.
Absolutely no eyes, just fluff. No crust or goop.I will ask my daughter but she said they eye lids are like feathered over. I will text her now she is still at work with it. It also has the beak defect.
I am so excited to watch her grow up. My daughter and I have always had a soft spot for animals in need.Awww, cute little thing. So glad your going to give her a chance. Thank you.
