Ope, well that one certainly isn't a Cream Legbar either LOL! I guess update with egg color when she lays and maybe it'll clear it up!Hilariously, the olive egger IS showing signs of being crested. These were about a week ago.

Yup, that's what I figured. I'm also picking up two maybe olive eggers locally this weekend to replace the one I'm suspecting is a cockerel. They're EE/BCM mixes and the guy said about half of them lay olive. They look just like her, except they have feathered feet and no crests.I only ask because she definitely does not look like a CCLB but does look like a Partridge penedesenca but they have yellow bands. Your olive egger looks right for Meyer as they use a CCLB x black copper Marans mix.
I can say with confidence it's not a Partridge Penedesenca. This bird is an entirely different color variety and is even barred. Penedesencas also have slate legs.I only ask because she definitely does not look like a CCLB but does look like a Partridge penedesenca but they have yellow bands. This one technically isn't mine, I'm raising some for a friend and this is hers, but my daughter is in love with her so we may trade one we ordered for her. If so I will definitely update!Ope, well that one certainly isn't a Cream Legbar either LOL! I guess update with egg color when she lays and maybe it'll clear it up!
Oh! It just dawned on me. Meyer carries Bielefelders. It doesn't explain the banding situation but it does explain its characteristics! This one technically isn't mine, I'm raising some for a friend and this is hers, but my daughter is in love with her so we may trade one we ordered for her. Oh I would be ecstatic! I really wanted one but it wasn't on my must have list this year. Definitely going to trade for her now lol.Oh! It just dawned on me. Meyer carries Bielefelders. It doesn't explain the banding situation but it does explain its characteristics!
I just checked their page and they show no availability for months...I'm guessing they don't carry them anymore!Oh! It just dawned on me. Meyer carries Bielefelders. It doesn't explain the banding situation but it does explain its characteristics!
Typically that means they're sold out, not that they are not hatching them. Hatcheries over hatch to make sure they can fulfill all orders. These extra chicks are either sold in assortments or thrown in as extras.I just checked their page and they show no availability for months...I'm guessing they don't carry them anymore!
I did have a "meal maker" but they list the breeds they send by week and that one's accounted for. It's the BBS Orpington that I fear maybe a cockerel...Typically that means they're sold out, not that they are not hatching them. Hatcheries over hatch to make sure they can fulfill all orders. I think more than likely one got confused somehow. Not sure the exact logistics behind how that would happen however. It would be an exceptionally poor-quality Legbar though. Wait a few months for when body type develops and of course egg color. Anything now is just speculation!I did have a "meal maker" but they list the breeds they send by week and that one's accounted for. It's the BBS Orpington that I fear maybe a cockerel...
