New layers. Been laying about a month. I've noticed the cockerel mounting some of the girls. He follows them into the coop when the go to lay. He'll build nests, gives soft clucks sounds, pretends he's found treats, and will try to mate them after they lay. Some have started squatting for him.13 weeks is pretty young, surprised he can actually get the job done at that age.
It does kinda look fertile, but rather blurry for these old eyes.
Are your hens over a year old....or......just started laying?
