Hello folks,

My EE has been losing feathers on her face around the ear and top of her head. She is the bottom of the totem pole so at first I thought she was being pecked while roosting at night.
I placed pinless peepers on the two culprits but the has been no improvement. It's actually getting worse.
She eats/drinks/poops normal.
Her eggs are sometimes softshelled.
I feed a lay crumble only with occasional treats/veggies.
They have full access to oyster shell and crushed egg shells.
I clean the coop weekly and have not seen signs of mites or lice on any of them.
I spray monthly with flock protector as a preventative.
No other hens are affected.

What is recommended? I've tried blucote but did not see improvement.
Thank you for any help or responses.

Coconut oil helps with better and stronger eggs and also healthier feathers. You could feed her a tsp every other day or a half tsp every day.. hope this helps! It could be parasites or lice too... A vet visit might be helpful or look up lice and parasite remedies
