This is Sanjay hatched on 12-29-2020.
a cross between a buff polish rooster and the hen was a naked neck Turken/ Polish mix.
Pullet or Cockerel? I was told that the shape of the crest at this age can give hints before saddle and tail feathers develop in a male. would love opinions. right out of the egg this chick made me think it is a male but its confidence and swagger seem to have softened a little in the last few weeks. i know things will change but the crest shape resembles my Polish hen so my friend has me thinking I may have a pullet. included some hatchling pics cause they are too cute.

So far it is looking like a female, but it's early days. Was there something else in its mix? I'm curious how she got feathered legs.
yes there sure is. mom pictured below was a Polish Rooster over a Turken / cochin bantam cross.
Don't ask me where the dark skin came from on the mom. we had 3 roosters at the time a Cemani, Turken and a white headed black polish. For the longest time I thought she was a chick from our Cemani rooster due to the hyper pigment but then about 8 weeks later her crest started to come in. Assume now the polish rooster was the father or she has two fathers, lol.

Interesting. I thought there was probably some feather legged breed in there, but was just curious because sometimes these things just pop up. The cochin parentage makes sense.
