Whatever she is, next year when we are getting chicks, it won't be from IFA. Out of seven chicks we bought there, three are what they were sold as. We bought a RIR that is a roo, a replacement RIR that is probably a production red or new Hampshire (she is the more orange than red color), an Araucana that was an EE (yes, this is a pretty common misrepresentation) and a GLW that is something else.
Lacy is a real sweet heart, she has never been one to let you hold her or pick her up, but has charm in other ways. She hangs out next to me a lot and is the best forager. She is also bottom of the pecking order. For a long time she didn't have a tail because the others were removing it. Thank you all for your help with her. I will let you know what color she ends up laying
All in all I am enjoying my chicken experience, and that is what I am in it for. My plans for making jewelry with molted feathers has been revised (but if I keep Henry, he has some gorgeous tail feathers coming in...do the roosters molt their tail feathers?), but I really don't need another hobby
