What are the dimensions on the inside at the floor level? How long do you anticipate needing to keep them in this brooder? I would be sure to put plastic under it or lining it with plastic (then bedding over that) to avoid leakage and damage to the floor beneath.
That should work fine, for a while atleast. However, you may need to put a lid/top on to prevent the chicks from jumping out as they get older. Also be sure to put a layer of good bedding down in it, such as a couple of inches of wood shavings.
The brooder looks pretty good to me, as long as you can safely hang a heat lamp over it or place another type of chick warmer in it. I would also recommend using shavings on the bottom, since you don't want the chicks walking on a slippery surface and getting splayed legs.
