Is this a good cold weather breed?

Yup an EE cockerel. Definitely a boy. Along with those pointy hackle and saddle feathers those brighter reddish patches on the wings are a definite clue. Girls don't have those patchy colors and the don't have red on the wings. They are more of an orangy brown color.

ETA: I meant to say, most commonly, the girls are an orangy brown. They can be other colors too...but not that red color.

I also think I got several more roos in this order than I wanted. Should be interesting when they start trying to impress the ladies.
