Is this a good deal: about a week old guineafowl eggs for $15 a dozen?

So I’m wanting more guineas, and I’d prefer old ones but they’re too expensive and even keets are pricey from what I’ve seen locally around me ($6-9 per keet).

I found someone who has lavender guinea eggs and is asking for $15 a dozen. I asked how old are the eggs they said about a week old.

Would that be good? I mean I’m sure I can ask to get that day’s batch but whose to say they won’t just say sure and still give me week old eggs.

They’re just a little over an hour away so I’d be picking them up.

Update** the lady ended up trying to up her price claiming she had been getting a lot of inquiries for her eggs. Without going into a long shpeel she did not stand behind her word.

That is acceptable for local eggs.

Figure on a bad hatch rate, maybe 33%. That would be 4 meets hatch. Comes out to 3.50 each plus gas and stress for whole incubation time. It's up to you if the risk is worth it or if it makes more sense to pay a little extra for keets. Ideally how many more adults do you want?

I’m thinking of getting 2 dozen to up my chances on hatch rate.

I want at least 6 females since I have 6 adult males right now.

But any extras I have will either be eaten or maybe I’ll decide to keep them all, not sure.

I forget how far you are but I saw these keets for $5 in Dry Branch. I would want fresher eggs for the incubator if I'm paying for them. No more than 4 days.

Macon is just a little farther than the person with the hatching eggs. Even if 3 hatch out of dozen that would be $5 a keet which would be the same. Thank you though 😊

I’m asking what their hatch rate / fertility rate is. Their profile seems decent so I trust they won’t sell bad eggs, but with these surges of bird buying you just never know.

I’m in SW GA.
