Is this a good deal: about a week old guineafowl eggs for $15 a dozen?

Macon is just a little farther than the person with the hatching eggs. Even if 3 hatch out of dozen that would be $5 a keet which would be the same. Thank you though 😊

I’m asking what their hatch rate / fertility rate is. Their profile seems decent so I trust they won’t sell bad eggs, but with these surges of bird buying you just never know.

I’m in SW GA.
I wanted some keets but my husband vetoed it. Hopefully you'll get lots to hatch.

Do you have a link to their "profile?"

I wouldn't buy week old eggs.

In season, I regularly set 3 week old guinea eggs without a problem. It is all in how they are stored. I have even stolen older ones out of a guinea nest and had a 50% hatch on those.
You are lucky.

Haha my husband really dislikes guineas because of their constant racket but they eat ticks and we haven’t seen a snake yet (although it’s still spring, we find a lot in the summer).

I love them. I’m not a fan of the female’s call but I also want to collect eggs to hatch in the future so I need females.

I'd definitely do it with my own eggs and have incubated old eggs. It's only if I'm paying money I'd want fresh. Plus that eliminates one variable of them not hatching.

It’s on FB. Not sure how to link it 🤣 not that tech savvy when it comes to FB.

I’ll ask to see if she’ll let me buy the eggs she collected that day and the day prior since I’m asking for 2 dozen but we’ll see what she says.

My incubator won’t be empty until next Sunday so I’m not picking any up til next Monday.

Yes, the noise bothers him and he thinks hawks would take them out quick. I wanted them for ticks and bugs. It's been bad lately. We had a handful several years ago but kept them penned. They were unhappy.

Oh yeah guineas are no good penned up. Mine are more cautious and experienced since they lost their leader in a tree (they refuse to roost on trees now yay😁) and then their only female companion got taken out by a hawk so they hide quickly when they see any. They know their run is arial-predator proof so they’ll run inside there if they’re near.
