Is this a good deal?

Someone offered me their flock of Jumbo browns (8 females and 2 males) for $80. Is that a good deal? She didn't answer when I asked their ages...just said they're laying like crazy...

Do insist on telling ages. If she avoids telling again something is definitely not to be trusted.

I don't know much about price's. But I think its a very good price for young layers. But too expensive if they are already 3 years of age.

It really depends on where you're at. That sounds like an average price to me for young layers (less than 6 months old). None of my hens are very old, but it's my understanding that they start laying less around 18 to 24 months and stop laying after that. How long they lay depends on whether they rest during the winter or not as well. Coturnix quail only have a lifespan of 3-5 years.
