Has anyone ordered from privett before? I am looking into purchasing a 10 week old buff orpington that was purchased from them? Any advise

They have cheap birds but they are not nice people to deal with. Just my experience.

Years ago I ordered some Welsummers from them. They were as good (or bad) as the ones I got from three other hatcheries.

Just FYI, out of over four dozen Welsummer chicks from four different hatcheries, I had to cull all but three for faults and DQs.

God Bless,

I use Purely Poultry and my chicks come from Privett. Purely is no more expensive and has much nicer customer service
As for the chicks I can't say enough good about the health of them. One shipment that I had turned out to be in excess of 100 degrees and humidity to match-my luck But we only lost 2 all were alive when they got here but 2 were weak and died soon after.
My second order was shipped in normal conditions..90's and bearable and not one loss..they flapped their little wings right out of the box and went straight to the food and water.
Overall quality on the ones I have gotten are better than I have had from some of the other hatcheries-no real complaints and no super star standout-yet

When I buy from hatcheries it is for my egg producers mostly and not my breeding stock so I don't critique as much on them. Now,if I happen to get a breeder quality from them

Now I have never seen their BO's so I can't help you out there.

I had the same experience.

I guess the quality is as good as any other hatchery stock I've seen.
Here is one of my pullets from them at 4 wks they are a little older now I'll try to get more and better pics later.

My birds and both of my neighbors birds were purchased through Welp, but were actually hatched and shipped by Privett. Here are some pictures of the Orpingtons from them. They are all beautiful friendly pullets.

One started laying around 23 weeks and one around 27 weeks. They have been very healthy backyard chickens. The other breeds we got from the same 2 shipments are Barred Rock, Black Australorp, Speckled Sussex, Red Star, and Easter Eggers.
