Is this a good incubator -- GQF 1266

It will be similar to the GQF sportsman that you see everywhere with a few less bells and whistles. You of course want to know if it has an auto turner and if it has an electronic thermostat as opposed to wafers is a plus also. The one I have has some tendency to be a couple of degrees hotter on the top than the bottom. I am only hatching a tray at a time so doesnt matter much. One tray is over 80 eggs. I think it will hatch around 240 chicken eggs at a time.

Thanks greathorse
It does have a turner not sure about thermostat.
She is asking 200 for it. Here is a pic of it - What do you think?

Thats one for hatching larger eggs. Doesnt have a electronic thermostat. No hatching tray either. Still worth 200.00. The 1202 have tray closer together, and hatching tray on the bottem.

She said that she hatched chicken eggs out of it - Will this be a good one for someone starting out? What would I need?
Thanks in advance
Amanda

Yes would be a great incubator to start with. You could just turn off the turner and cover the trays so chicks dont jump out. When hatching time comes

would order extra wafers. I may even have a extra hatching tray.

You will need a water pan.

Thanks for the info deerman. Not to sound too ignorant, but what are wafers. Don't laugh

She said it had a water pan.
I am still a newbie at this.

they are the disk on the thermostat.

That incubator beat those styroform ones with turners people paying 100.00 for.

that one will last for over 20 years

If I was doing it I would buy it. I would replace the wafers that are in it before I fired it up. Then when I got the the money I would replace the wafers with a new digital thermostat. Definately worth the two hundred. You can order the humidity pan for it directly from GQF MFG.
