You'll have to keep the peas penned up for awhile to get them used to your home and surrounding area. There is no guarantee they won't head for the hills when you let them out and I would get juveniles over chicks. Chicks have a high mortality rate and unless you're experienced in raising them it can end in alot of heartache.

That's good because I prefer juveniles. Sounds a lot like guineas.
