Is this a gosling?

Someone dropped this sweet baby in my yard. I have chickens and ducks so I’m guessing they thought this was the place to drop it. It has larger feet than any of my ducks ever did as babies. Am I correct that it’s a gosling? If so, does anyone know what kind? (Pictures attached)

Poor baby Yes, it's a gosling. It's gonna need a gosling friend if you're keeping it, hopefully you can find one or two.

It may be a Canada goose gosling, which would be a problem because in that case it would be illegal for you to have it and you'd want to get it to a wildlife rehabber ASAP. They have that dark spot on the head like that.

Or, it might be a toulouse, or an African, or maybe a brown Chinese, etc. There are several possibilities.

Adorable! It is a Canada gosling. You can tell by the distinct curve along side of beak, as well as the blackness of feet. X2 on getting it a buddy or finding a wildlife place that will accept and raise it.

We walked back by the creek after seeing mom flying over calling. There were several other goslings so we set him on his way as mom and babies were calling him. Felt better getting him reunited with his family. Thanks everyone!
