I know this gets asked a lot and I've looked at A LOT of pictures of rouens. I feed wild mallards every day so I'm comfortable with identifying them. But I'm curious about this one. The duck on the bottom is a juvenile rouen hen. The duck above her is the same age (they were found together on my property at 4 weeks old as orphans). She is smaller than the rouen and stands like a mallard, however she is bigger than other mallards her age bit a bit and she has two eye stripes. The rouen's tail feathers are brown and tan while the wild Ballard's are white. This duck in question has both kinds of tail feathers and her feathers look a bit different from the mallards. So I have started wondering if she could be a mix? The double eye stripes especially makes me wonder.
The middle pic the duck I'm question is on the right with the rouen in the middle and a couple random mallards are there too. First and last pic rouen on bottom duck in question above her.
