Is this a Jersey Giant?

So i bought some chickens and 1 was supposed to be a black jersey giant. Shes going through her "ugly stage" right about now. I thought the breed was a solid black but im seeing some brown in her feathers. Is this normal, im not to familiar with the breed. I can provide more pics if needed.

If it is, it’s mixed with something. Here are my Jersey’s when they were little. It’s normal for them to have some white but not brown.

Before her feathers really started to come in she was completley black. I have another chicken thats supposed to be a "asutralorp" but i feel like its actually a jersey giant. She looks more like the ones in your picture too, shes a little younger so she dosent have feathers yet. Thanks for the info

I think i have it backwards. The picture i posted is suppose to be a "australorp" and my smaller one that looks like yours was suppose to be a jersey giant. So do australorps get brown in their feathers???

I’m not sure about them, I think they’re supposed to look very similar to BJGs but the legs are a different color. I could be wrong though.

Hmm, a little leakage wouldn't be surprising, if its just a hatchery bird, but that looks kind of like lacing, and more brown than should be there. Where did you get it? It's definitely not an Austrolorp, unless maybe mixed with something. It may be a Black Sex Link.

Look at is foot underneath, in Jersey giants it should be yellow.

I got it from Rual King :/ i swear i tell myself next time im going to get them from a breeder but i get all my supplies from RK. I was thinking black sex link too. I did find a thread on here where someone had a australorp that had brown in it but after it molted it then looked like a asutralorp. Either way shes the sweetest bird ive raised and loves cuddling with me lol
