Hello, This is supposed to be a cross between a Maran and a BLRW. He/She has a funny little mohawk going on , thus it's name.

He/she is about 7 weeks old any ideas if it's a pullet or a roo??

LOL look at that fo-hock! Adorable! I would say Roo, because of the color and size of comb and waddles but I don't know much about mixes! Good luck!

Well, what the heck is up with that little crest? Soooo cute! I think it's a boy. The reason is, the comb/waddles, but also looking at the tail is making me thing rooster.......

I hope I'm wrong!

Not sure are the saddle feather (by its tail) rounded or pointy and the hackle feather (those are the ones after the neck feathers) I can't tell with the coloring in a couple of pictures I think pullet then in the other picture I think rooster.

If the barring pattern is anything to go by in that cross, you have a pullet. Some breeds develop combs and wattles much earlier than others, I would like to see a full side body pic with the legs though.

Hi, They have been that color for sometime, can't say always....but didn't turn just recently. I'll post other pics later Thank you for the help! Not sure what it is crossed with. The egg came from a friend of the breeder and she told me Maran and BLRW so I guess it could be anything.
