Is This a Pip?

I tried looking up to see how long it'll be till hatching is complete, but it seems a little varied. Is it safe to say it should take a day or two?
After you first notice an external pip...You should expect chicks 24 hours later.

Thanks, the pip seems to be sticking out a little more than it was when I was taking the picture. I've got everything for the brooder ready so it'll be a quick setup when they hatch. I'll probably stay up a little tonight but the hatch will probably happen tomorrow.
Sleep tonight.
You have time. ;)

Haha okay thanks. I'm pretty excited! My first time hatching/raising birds before :)
You mentioned that you have your brooder ready...
Make sure the floor is flat and make sure there's nowhere for the little baby quail to get behind something and hide or get stuck.

Quail babies love to try to kill themselves the first few days.
You have to be ready... prevent it.

There is a heating pad stuck to the bottom of the tank (temporarily using a terrarium) and I was thinking of using that, but because it gets hot I was thinking of putting a dish cloth so it can provide warmth without getting too hot. I also have a red light. I was thinking of using the red light during the day and the heating pad at night so the light doesn't need to be on all the time. Since I'm new to this I was thinking of trying out a few things and watching their behavior to see what works best. Would the dishcloth be an issue? I can't put paper products like paper towels over it, but the other side of the brooder with the food and waterer will be completely flat. Should I put some stones in the waterer in case it's too big for them?

A terranium like a glass fish tank?

I would not use a heat lamp bulb in a small space...ever.

Can you get a picture of your setup and a picture of your heating pad thing?

Yes pics would be helpful and definitely stones or marbles in waterers......quail think they are scuba divers and love to drown themselves!!!! I have even experienced it with 2-3 week old coturnix!

Right now the heating pad is on a tank with a leopard gecko.. once the quails hatch I have an empty tank that I'm moving the lizard to so I can use the tank with the heating pad. But I have everything ready to put in the tank once they're hatched. The paper bag has 1.5lbs of game crumble. I don't have substrate placed down yet, but that's because I'm waiting to switch out the tanks. The lid is wire. I was planning on using this red light but I'll scratch that if it's a bad idea.
