Is this a problem? (see pic of vermin)

I have learned by lesson with leaving too much food out and will not being doing this anymore, but I noticed this guy. He was surprising as I live in the middle of town and haven't seen any of his kind around where I live. He's just one guy. He is staying. He lives under my porch now... Why does he look like a pet and is this a real problem? We are moving from this property in two months but I will catch him if theres a reason to do so.

That definitely looks like a fancy rat and not a wild rat. Someone must've let their pet free. I'd let it be unless you see eggs disappearing. Rats can eat the eggs.

Or maybe someone lost their rat? You could post a pic in the lost and found section of craigslist.

I would not be surprised if that rat is tame, you could catch it and take it with you. rats as pets are amazing, not so much as coop raiders though! better kept in a cage and well fed!

Well I am glad to hear it is probably not a threat to my flock. I don't really want a pet rat with several cats and chickens but I may consider putting up a found sign. I was wondering whether they can be that coloring in the wild but it seems not.
