My hen hatched out a mixed clutch last week (none of her own) and we're trying to work out what breeds the chicks are. Two look to be standard sized (or slightly bigger) and hatched from pale green eggs, two are definitely bantams, and the sixth we're not sure of. The breeder who gave us the eggs said two of the seven eggs were quail, so logic dictates that this chick is a quail but her feet and those of a bantam?
She also has extra feathers on the middle joint of her knees, and she does look like a quail chick, but we're not sure. As quail have different dietary needs this is something I'm hoping to find an answer to
