Is this a Rhode Island Red? 18 weeks old

She was supposed to be a Specked Sussex but obviously she is not. She did have chipmunk stripes and eyeliner as a chick though. Do RIR have that? What about the black around her neck feathers? I've never had RIR before, just New Hampshire Reds (the hen to the right in the first picture). She is 18 weeks and I think she just started laying, as we found a small egg this week and she has the reddest comb of all our newbies.

The RIR chicks I've seen didn't have any chipmunk stripes or eyeliner. So long as the stores labeled them properly, anyway.

I don't have any experience with RIRs and I'm new to chickens. Maybe @redinator can help?

It's a new Hampshire as well, just has some better geneticsm

It isn’t a rir I’m pretty sure. I have never had a New Hampshire but that would be my guess

She doesn't look like my other New Hampshire hens. And I don't remember them having eyeliner or chipmunk stripes as babies either. I'll look for some old photos...

Ooh I just looked up New Hampshire chick pictures and you are right. Maybe she is a mix of some sort?

Also, I had guessed Rhode Island because they were also selling those the same day. That would make sense. That one ended up in the wrong bin. Nothing else they had that day would look like her but that doesn't mean something didn't happen before they got to the store I guess

No, every response is blatantly wrong. This bird is a mixed breed called a Cinnamon Queen. They have the chipmunk chick down and can either have rose or single combs
