Is this a rip off? Please read.

Thats pretty crummy business..if she sold you a deformed chick i think she needs to at least replace that one.

yes, this is very true. they should take note of any reports positive or negative. it could be a breeding or incubation problem that needs to be rectified right away if there is more than one report.

Miss Jayne
Could you share this part. I will be picking up some chicks next week and I would like to know what I'm smelling for etc.
Thanks

OH, you didn't mention that in your post. Then absolutely, i agree that you were not treated fairly. You should have received two new chicks (of the right color) when those first two died. i guess one needs to ask a breeder what their policy is regarding death and deformity, or being given the wrong color.

Sorry you had to experience that. People like that shouldn't be in business.

Sorry that I did not post that. Thank you for all of your post. I really appreciate it.

i don't want to hijack...i hope M will understand, and i think he will, because he is a smart cookie, once burned twice learned.

when buying a bird, check it head to toe.

eyes, ears, nose, mouth. vent, wings, belly and legs/feet.

the nose thing....pick it up and hold it close, act like you are just in LOVE with the thing already.

"It's so cute! OHMYGOSH!!!! kiss kiss kiss!" while practically smooching the bird or just ohhing and ahhing, get a good whiff of it's nostrils. make sure it isn't smelly in there.

if it is rank, get out of dodge. that's not the bird for you.

M....don't feel stupid! most likely, you were excited and really wanted something. everyone has made a purchase for something like this. live and learn. see my comment above. ONCE BURNED, TWICE LEARNED. now you have practical, hands on knowledge. tuck it in your cap and use it.

you've also shared it and don't think just the people who have COMMENTED here have read it. WAY more have. most people that read threads NEVER comment. you've helped a ton of people, M.
it's not stupidity, it's real life.

now, your next task is to find the right chicks for you. it may take a week, or it may take MONTHS. it took me a YEAR AND A HALF to find someone who had the guineas i wanted! be patient and it'll happen. don't settle! be picky. it's YOUR money and your flock.

blessings for the best flock with healthy, happy chickens, M! thank you for sharing and helping others. sharing this was brave. you could of been eaten alive. but you did it. you put it out there. let's face it, i'm one of the ones that WILL eat you alive. good for you!
