Is this a Roo? (Pics)

My brother was given a chicken one of his little friends and he gave it to me and I am wondering if its a he or she. I put he/she in the mixed breed pen because he/she was the only chicken my brother's friend owned. I saw all three of the roos that are in the mixed breed pens courting he/she (you know the rooster dance) so I was thinking pullet but has charteristics of a roo. While were on the subject or the gender could everyone also tell me the breed on him/her. Thank You for reading/posting.

I don't know, I have an Australorp and she has a bigger comb, and almost as pointy hackle feathers. How old is the bird? Any idea? Here's a picture of my bird. You can't tell much about her hackles here, but you can see her comb and her big old flag of a tail. Sorry I don't have a better picture. I do think your bird is an Australorp or an Australorpish mix. You might do a google search for Australorps and take a close look at their hackles. Any spurs on your bird?
