About 9wks old.. I am too impatient to wait for a crow or egg. Lol. What does everyone think? I tried looking at feathers but not exactly sure what saddle and hackle feathers are. I've been trying to teach myself. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure. Gender specific feathering doesn't come in till about 12 weeks, so you won't be finding the pointy hackles yet.

OP, dogs have hackles, think of it like that. Hackle feathers are on the neck. Saddle feathers are near the base of the tail. (Like where you might put a saddle if chickens were ride-able XD)

I can't tell yet. While it's great that you are looking for pointy saddle feathers, they won't come in until a chicken is 12+ weeks old.
