We split an order with a few families and we ordered 6 hens.
3 rhode island reds, and 3 golden comets
One golden comet started showing different signs and we started wondering if she was a he.
His tail feathers were the last to come in. His comb developed faster than the others or more prominent. We did the hat trick where we held the hat over all 6 chickens - 5 ran away and 1 stayed to peck at it. guess which one? He's been jumping on some of the hens backs (to no avail). We got them this past May. He also has that little nail coming out of his back leg.
Just looking for confirmation what we think we already know. We haven't heard any crowing from him.
