I bought this chick with an assortment of various breeds (this is the only one of its kind I have). The farm said this was a Speckled Sussex, but so far, it doesn't look like other Speckled Sussexes I've seen online. Also, with those big tail feathers, could it possibly be a rooster? Sussexes are new for me so I'm not really sure what to expect from them.

Chick is 9, maybe 10 weeks old.

Don't mind the Red Sex Link photobombing the one photo.

I think he may have meant to say Silver Sussex. But as you can see from this photo example, there are a lot of factors that are inconsistent with your chicken being a purebred Silver Sussex.

There is clearly something mixed in and my money is also on EE looking at the neck feathers, tail, leg colour and body shape.

She does look like a silver-duckwing bantam Kraienköppe to me

She sort of resembles a silver phoenix, with that tail .. but wrong leg color, and I’m pretty sure wrong comb type (phoenix have single combs). She’s pretty.

the tail is wrong for any sort of Sussex (lots of photos of the different types, plus description of the standards here https://poultrykeeper.com/chicken-breeds/sussex-chickens/ ). But she's got pretty plumage and looks very happy and healthy. Please let us know what colour egg she lays when she does!
