The egg seller is convinced this is from his flock of speckled Sussex but every time I post saying about it people say it’s not a speckled Sussex that it looks more like a jubilee Orpington! I don’t mind either way but curious! I’ve attached a picture of the chickens the eggs apparently came from!

No.
Just no.
Wrong color pattern, skin color…I could probably go on.
That’s what I said but he got all offended and sent a massive email to me about why it was not a jubille Orpington and was def a Sussex. This is the picture of his flock! I’m not going t I answer again but just thought I’d see what others thought. He said Orpington’s are huge. I have a buff Orpington chick hatched same time and she’s half the size of these two.!

It’s not an Orp or a Sussex. Perhaps as it grows you should send him a photo.
Can I see the photos of his flock?

So annoying god was what the little cuties are I spent ages picking the breeds as well! They are much bigger and feistier Than the others kind of bullying the orp and the silkies as they are almost twice the size!

Nice birds. They definitely didn’t make that chick, though.
This was my Speckled Sussex girl at 2 days old.View attachment 3023818

See how dark she was?

Yeah my two are nothing like that they are pretty light one of them almost yellow with faint chipmunk stripes and no eyeliner!

OP, would you happen to be in Australia? There was an Aussie poster with SS not too long ago with the same question, and apparently this is not abnormal coloring for Australian SS chicks.
So, I have done some internet sleuthing and found several discussions on this topic in another poultry forum (not sure whether it's ok to link here?) from, some almost a decade old. From what I have gathered, the Australian SS lines do tend towards a wheaten base (possibly due to a lack of SS breeders in the past and not having many options for improving the breed), but still produce good colour/mottling once they are adults. Fingers crossed that mine turn out fine looking SS chooks!
