Is this a tomato plant or?? PASSIONFRUIT...updated

Quote:
I agree. Most likely a bird ate this fruit and as it flew by it pooped and the seed landed were you see the plant growing now. Thats how alot of plants get migrated and end up in wierd spots. Lucky you! I want some passion fruit plants

Chef

I can send you cuttings of mine, it's the fredrick strain of eduli, which is the bigger juicing fruits. PM me and I'll send you a big box for shipping.

Definitely passion fruit. Please don't eat until ripe. It will give a bad tummy ache! Poisonous to goats but most of them won't touch it!

Hey! I have a couple of those growing in random placed in my yard and I've been wondering what they are. I haven't cut them down because the flowers are so interesting. Thanks for the ID!

Now the big question- will they hurt the chickens?

They never get ripe around our house. The kids always pick them green and squeeze them until they pop. Guess they thought the name "maypop" was chosen for a reason.

If the pods are hollow with little seeds inside that are covered with a white pulp....then definitely maypop. We have them all over NW Georgia. Used to chew on the seeds/pulp as kids

They make the most beautiful flowers! They grow like mad around here and I let them grow on trees, the chicken wire, or anything that they will climb on. I just love these!

They are what everyone else mentioned....

Definitely PassionFruit.

And it is everywhere! Once I started looking for the leaves and the flowers I have tons of it.

Interesting!
