Is this an abnormally large spur from my roos foot? PICS!

After researching lots of ways to trim a roo's spurs, that's probably the best one I've found.
We waited too long to do my Thor's spurs. He broke one off and it did bleed quite a bit, but has healed.

Oh boy, this should be interesting! I just got these birds this morning and they will not come near me. They are the only chickens that have ever intimidated me. I don't plan on keeping them as they are not pure, like I was told. Maybe whoever buys them can trim it...lol. I'm scared! Plus they have scaly leg mites, which I was not told about either. Dang it! He's like 20 pounds and will probably try and kill me if I touch him!

The temporary coop they are in now is very small (not too small for them though). There is only a small door to reach into. Even with a flashlight, I will probably spook them to death and they'd peck my face off. I'd have to get close to the door, look in, then look up at the roost. I'll just have my husband do it. He's at drill this weekend and he hasn't seen them yet. I won't warn him they may be mean, but tell him to wear a helmet and thick gloves...lol! Not nice....

They would be more afraid of you than you of them. Don't let their sizes inimidate you.

I still think I want to send my hubby out to at least catch him. Then I'll do the rest. We'll have to wait til the kids are sleeping and the chickens are sleeping and creep up to the coop. Hopefully we can get the right chicken in the first shot!
