Our Silkie chickens have been laying so well that we have plenty stocked up for eating so decided we would try and incubate a few. They were started on 7/31 so this would be day 2. I know you’re supposed to wait to candle I was just curious if I could see anything...

Also want to add this would be my first time candleing or incubating eggs so completely new to this
 
you can typically start seeing development around day 4 .....you will want to try darker area and candle from fat end of the egg with less light escape for best view of early development
I was just telling my boyfriend we should’ve did it when it was dark out and not first thing in the morning LOL
 
With a sharp eye and light eggs you can see what's developing or not on day 2... But day three is better. If you catch the timing right, you can see the heartbeat! Super cool.
