Is this an Ameacauna Rooster or hen?

Hello,

This is my first time raising hens and I have 10! Six Red Stars (we think) that are about 16 wks old and 1 Maran (we think) and 3 Ameracauna's (again, we *think*). These girls younger are about 5.5 wks old.
Well, one morning about 1.5 wks ago I woke to a funny sound. I listened carefully as i was a bit sartled and wondered what it could be. All the way downstairs i could here this muffled, wanna be type mini crow! It was adorable in a chicken-ish way, lol. So, that begn my frantic searching on rooster vs crow.
This chick's comb is larger than the thers that hatched the same day, he/she doesnt startle as easily and i heard the crow 2 consecutive days in a row. Since they are now outdoors all of the time i havent heard it again though. Once or twice I saw him/her kindof go breast to breast with the white Ameacauna like they were gonna pick a fight, but nothing ever came of it, and I havent seen it alot.
What do you think??

Thats what i was afraid of! The wierd thing is, he is the least agressive/feisty/afraid of them all. The others freak out when we go in the enclosure and he just seems pretty chill, even letting us hold him without too much fuss. Woudnt he be more aggressive?

How will this work with the older set of hens? Will he eventually feel "in charge" of them as well, or just his family that he is growing with (the same aged ones)? They free range together infrequently as the older hens peck at them alot, and bully them too much for my comfort. They do share the coop together at night though.

It's a cockerel, but it's no way an Ameraucana. They have pea combs, no wattles, plus beards and muffs.

Hmmmm, really?? So, what do you think it is then? I will be making another post later today with the different chicks i have. I really have no clue what they are, other than what my friend (whom hatched them) says they are.

Well, I called my friend whom I got the eggs from, and she said they are definately mixes. She siad the woman whom she got the eggs from had mostly Ameracaunas and Marans, Lavendar Orphingtons and she cant remember what else.
My friend thinks this is an Ameracauna, but do you think maybe its a a Maran Ameracauna mix then?
I am such a newbie and learning so much from you guys, thx!

Btw, I was so proud of him today! When the bigger hens came around to poke at the little ones, he stood his ground protecting his flock to make sure the bigger hens didnt bother them. What a man!

He could be an Ameraucana crossed with something else. In that case, it's an easter egger. EE's don't have to have beards or muffs, or certain types of combs; they just have to be mutts with the blue egg gene. I have EE's with and without beards/muffs.
