If they are a real breeder they should know what breed they are selling.

Agreed. There is no unauthorized breeding with real breeders. Mistakes do not happen. If breeder birds get mixed then their eggs are not pure and its the breeders carelessness that those eggs got incubated and the offspring sold.

They had a farm with a bunch of Rhode Island Reds and Australorps, so I think they mixed. I also got a RIR from them and it was pure RIR.
