Is this an egg with bacterial infection? If so, is it for sure going to be a dud? Any chance of it living?
I am completely new to incubating, this is my first attempt. So any help is very appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

How many days of incubation? See what appears to be a 'blood ring'? This is generally indicative of an egg that started developing and then quit. Do you have other eggs that are showing veining and a 'rocking' embryo?

This was at the end of day 5. I picked them up locally (Northern Idaho/Northeastern Washington).
The rest of them seem to be doing ok, rocking embryo's, veining. They just started showing the black dot that I've learned to be the eyes.

Sounds good! Good luck with the hatch. Did you dispose of the one in the picture?

Not yet, but I guess I need to. If I only lose one on my first try, I'll still consider it success.

Thank you!

Definitely! It's so easy to get attached to the eggs before they even hatch, right? I work with shipped eggs and sadly always loose a few. Some even make it to lockdown and have perfectly formed chicks inside but for some reason just don't hatch. It makes everyone that does hatch a little miracle.
