Is this an unsual color?

Sounds like the color of Campines and Braekels (Campines have much more "barring," actually a pencilling, while Braekels have what you described because they are not henny feathered.)

Sorry, I did not realize "newbies" could not post pictures.
My friend did post pictures later after we discovered you need to do
10 posts before you can post pictures. We both became
members the same day as the post. I've sure learned alot
from this site, thanks so much for all the help.

Very pretty bird! Definitely looks mixed, it's hard to say which breeds, though. Anyone else have ideas on the breeds involved in making this pretty little one? I'm staring at it but I'm not getting much.

looks like samon faferoll mix the feathes will not be bared when she grows up and gets her adult feathers no need to apologise glad to have you join us on the BYC
