Sounds like the color of Campines and Braekels (Campines have much more "barring," actually a pencilling, while Braekels have what you described because they are not henny feathered.)

Very pretty bird! Definitely looks mixed, it's hard to say which breeds, though. Anyone else have ideas on the breeds involved in making this pretty little one? I'm staring at it but I'm not getting much.
