I know there are thousands of these angel wing threads, but I am a newbie to waterfowl so please forgive...

Goslings are 33 days old at this point. Fed a diet of Mazuri Waterfowl Starter since arrival, supplemented with greens and allowed out to graze a few hours each day. One is developing feathers far quicker than the other three and both of his wing tips are rolling outward. Is this angel wing? If so, how do I wrap BOTH wings? Like a little straight jacket for goslings? All of the instructionals on wrapping angel wings seem to focus on just one wing being affected, I can't find instructions for both wings. Although I did find one thread on just wrapping the wing and not around the body, which makes my claustrophobic self feel better about things.Would that be a possibility for him?

The other three seem to have a slight outward curl on the very tips of their wings, but its more like a bad hair day than a bone issue (the affected gosling is third from the bottom)

Thanks!

Thanks! When I got home from work today another goslings had both wings turned out too, so I apparently need to get this wrapping technique downpat. Sigh...

Maintenance diet is supposed to be in tomorrow morning too.

Thanks again!

Mazuri Waterfowl Starter sounded like such a good idea in the beginning.

Oh well, I have lived and I have learned, que sera sera

Mazuri starter is great, but shouldn't be fed exclusively beyond 2/3 weeks old. When we feed it's always Mazuri, from hatch to 2-3 weeks we do starter with rolled oats. After that they get maintenance with oats, white millet, wheat, and BOSS mixed in. it's about protien levels and reducing them as feathers start growing in.

Also we only feed grain in the morning and they are on pasture all day long, no free choice feed all day long.

Also some goslings are just very prone to AW from their parents.

No cracked corn?

I never ever EVER feed corn to any of the animals from ducks to geese to chicken, goats and dogs. Whole and cracked corn are like candy and pack on empty calories. As I have stated on our what we feed page of the farms website only those living where winters are extremely cold (20-40 for lows isn't extreme) should feed corn in the winter for extra boost during the coldest days/nights.
