Is this baby a hen? & what breed?

    I was given this baby recently because her flock was mean to her. I was told she is a hen about 5 months old. She's just so much bigger than my 5 month old hens & hasn't laid eggs yet. Can someone help by telling me what breed & if she really is a hen. Thank you [​IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

    For future reference, if you want a hen, don't pick a bird with that deep, dark red through the wing/shoulder area. That is a male specific trait.

    Also, he is likely about 12 weeks old, given the red comb and lack of obvious male saddle feathers.
