Is this Barred Rock chick a cockerel or a pullet?

I added some pictures of the other chick please disregard her bald spot, she was attacked as a chick at the store, she’s recovering nicely though!

Those look like Marans to me.

They have yellow legs so they are Barred Rocks (plus Marans have slightly different barring pattern). It is a pullet. Barred birds the females are darker than the males.

They look more barred than cuckoo to me. This will sound silly, but to me their faces look very similar to my Dominique rather than to my Cuckoo Marans, and (according to Cackle Hatchery) Dominiques were used in the development of Barred Rocks. There is something slightly sweeter about the face of a BR or Dom compared to a Marans, in my opinion. I’ll go with my gut and guess that they are Barred Rock mixes of some kind.

Btw, your little bald chicken is absolutely adorable! I’m so glad her feathers are growing back in well, but she is so cute with her missing feathers!
