Is this BR Houdini as I thought,, or Hannah?

None of mine are separated unless they have injuries or are sick. I'm dividing some pens though so I can have White Boy with his girls, Houdini with is and have some closer to pure bred. I have almost as many roos as hens, which I know is not the best situation but I haven't had any difficulties yet. The younger group coming up has more hens and I'm selling the little roos before I get too attached. I'm trying to even out the ratio of roos to hens to at least 1 roo to 5 hens. But I've got so many roos I just love I can't let them go!

I'd guess pullet - her feathers are darker than BR roos and it doesn't look like she has pointed saddle or hackle feathers. Also, her comb isn't that big for a 4 month old BR pullet.

These are my 2 barred rock pullets at 20 weeks of age (according to its Dec. 15th birthdate, your pullet will be 19 weeks old tomorrow):

Kate, I'm looking at this pic again and it looks more like a pullet than a cockerel. Seems with a comb that red, I'd be actually seeing stringly saddles and hackles by now. I have stared and stared at that pic, LOL. So, I guess I'll say pullet. Now, if this bird starts crowing, you never heard me say that.

Do you know for CERTAIN it's a Barred Rock? It reminds me of black sex-link males more than it does Barred Rock. But if it came from your flock or something and you KNOW it's a Barred Rock...

It looks like something! LOL! Game body (thinking Malay or something by the look of the legs) or Leghorn body, which is also kind of gamey...LOL

There's no white in the earlobes though...it just looks "funky". But with hatcheries obviously not caring what their birds are represented as...who's to say this isn't the "new and improved Barred Rock!"??

Dont get me started on the BRs the hatcheries are putting out these days! It really does not have a BR body type and the barring is, well, off. As you say, rodrieguez, sort of like a sexlink male. I vacillate between pullet and cockerel, but on pure BRs, by this age, it is rarely ambiguous.

I'm going to get better pics of all my supposed BRs today because I fellow just bought some of my other chicks and made the comment that those barred ones ALMOST look like BRs...... what are they?
aghaghhagghahhhaghh~!!!!!!!

I was thinking the same thing - the body type looks way different from my barred rocks, but I thought maybe it was just the stance.

Mine are hatchery BR - here are pics at 23 weeks (included 2 pics, because I don't have 1 with a full body shot):

What are those puffy faced birds in the pic Arizona? LOL now I know mine aren't what they are supposed to be, one of my "BRs" has a beard! I don't know how I didn't notice it before.
