Wanted to post an update on Zsa Zsa. My vet sedated her and removed the infection from her foot. She asked me to bring in one of those swimming pool foam noodles when i picked her up. i guess they take slices of those to make a type of corn pad to cushion the foot and take pressure off the wound site. Anyhow, her foot is all wrapped up and she spent the night in a crate in our laundry room. Today i need to clean out a hutch i have and set her up inside. My vet said she shouldn't get her foot wet, so that means staying inside for the 6-8 weeks it will take to completely heal. She's got Baytril and then Metacam for pain.
i ordered a pair of duck shoes from indoorducks.com. But those will take a while to come in. In the meantime, i need to take Zsa Zsa back in every 3-5 days for a bandage change. It all ran me just under $300. Not that i have that kind of money to spare. But i'm glad i've given her a good chance at recovery. Anyhow, just wanted to let everyone know how things went.
