Is this canker?

The last few weeks I noticed one of our young chickens was acting lethargic, huddled/puffed up and by herself when out in the yard. I was hoping I was imagining things, but she looked worse today and was having trouble eating and swallowing. I found her throat is almost completely blocked as shown in the photos, and the sides of her throat are swollen. I removed a little of the substance with tweezers. It fits the description I found online of canker - a soft "cheese-like" mass. It smells bad as well. Is this canker, or could it be something else? I'm afraid my chicken's situation is pretty dire, but I'm thinking of ordering Metronidazole and acidified copper sulfate to try to treat her rather than trying to find a vet who'd likely be a lot more expensive. We have 9 chickens, and I'm also wondering if I should separate her out or not. The others have obviously been exposed for a while. Also, should I try to feed her or give her something to drink, and if so, what and how? Also, how much of the canker or whatever it is in her throat should I remove? She keeps jerking away even when my husband tries to hold her so I'm worried I might injure or choke her while trying to help.

Thank you in advance.

With a bad odor, then yes, it's very likely Canker.

Metronidazole or Acidified Copper Sulfate can be used to treat her. I'd separate her out for treatment. Canker is contagious, so you really don't want shared water stations with her and the others.

It would be a good idea to offer Acidified Copper Sulfate for 3 days to the other flock members to hopefully prevent spread and/or get on top of others potentially getting worse.

Thank you for your help.

Yes, that is obviously canker. Does it smell bad? Keep her separated. Check out your other chickens. Be sure to disinfect your feeders and waterers too. Keep wild birds and pigeons from drinking out of waterers. Fill in any mud holes where birds might drink. Personally, I would cull a chicken with canker, since it is so contagious to your other birds. But the treatments mentioned above are the right ones to use for treatment and prevention.

Where can I find/buy Acidified Copper Sulfate?

How do the birds get canker? I feed the birds outside and I caught one dying and it had canker. I spotted more today that are not well and think it spread to some of the others.
